Yard Sale Finds and Re-Purposing

Last Saturday I found this old 1950's sewing machine 
at a neighborhood yard sale for $15.00

This is what it looked like when 

I purchased it.  

There is a sewing machine inside, 

that does not work.

I removed it and dropped it off at the sewing machine repair man,
 and will wait on his estimate to see whether it is worth fixing. 
 Whether or not, I really like this cabinet and the counter space 
and storage that it will provide in my little studio. 
 

Here is some of the bonus items 

that were in the drawers.

I found lots of vintage buttons, 
some wooden spools, packages of needles,
and rick-rack, all sorts of cool things.

 

Here you'll see some vintage  

embroidery transfers.  

One of the neatest things that I found about these items 
is the original prices.

Here I am out in Steve's woodworking shop, sanding away. 

It turned out pretty nice,

don't you think?

This is a circle of plywood that I found 

going through Steve's woodworking shop scrap pile. 

 I think it was leftover from his Green Egg Table, check it out at

 All I did was paint it and put it on top of an overturned flower pot, 

to add an extra outdoor table to our patio.

 Here's another view of the table.  

 All that is missing is you and I 

relaxing with a cool glass of lemonade.
