Butterfly Journal Pages

Now that the weather is so cold and being outside freezes me to the bone
 . . .
I find that I am enjoying doodling in my journal.

As you can see from the photo below . . .

I cut several pages into a butterfly shape.
Then I drew my background and proceeded to put many different
and brightly colored butterflies on the pages.

It was really a lot of fun . . .

I usually don't play with such bright colors . . .

But when the days are gray and cold . . .

These bright colors add a little sunshine . . .

And warm up my spirit.

This art journal is like my grown-up coloring book . . .
and every bit as enjoyable as those childhood days of coloring.

Never - Never - Never
loose the little girl that lives deep inside you.

Thanks for stopping in . .
I hope that you enjoyed your visit.
I always enjoy having  you here . .
I just wish I could serve up some tea and cake and that we could have a proper visit.

Please leave a comment . . .
I read every one :)

  1. My Connie, how beautiful and oh, so creative! Clearly, the little girl in you is steering you in the right direction :-) I think every single person living in the Pacific Northwest should have one of these journals/albums on their desk! Happy New Year! Veronique (French Girl in Seattle)

    1. Hi there, I agree that we should all start journals . . . write about the happy events . . . draw and color and paint and doodle :) make your journals so full of life and love that when you open them you feel joy. Then one day when you are gone from this world and a child or grandchild happens to come across one of them, they will know that life can be light and filled with simple pleasures.
      Have a marvelous day :)

  2. Dear Connie you never cease to amaze me. You are so talented and I'm very envious of your wonderful ideas and beautifully coloured journal entries. If I wasn't so tied up with my studying I would love to have a go. I think I told you that my husband John would like to start a journal but hasn't quite got there yet although he may be retiring soon. He has all the equipment, the colouring pencils, paints, brushes etc so I think I might give myself a day off and have a dabble! Thank you for showing us your artwork.

    1. Hi Patrica, Oh, I do hope that John starts journaling . . . it is a wonderful way to share your life with those that follow you down life's path. A special place to get lost in and doodle away the stress of the day :)
I hope that he will let you share some of his pages on your blog, or even start his own blog (let me know, I would love to follow his artful journey).
Have a day filled with joy.

    1. Hi Roxie, I wish you could be here, too. I'll bet we could put our heads together and come up with some awesome ideas for transforming junk to treasures :) We also have snow and it has been in the 20's all week. Today my poor sweetie is installing a new kitchen sink, and as always there are complications . . . nothing is as easy as they make it look on DIY TV. I do hope that you are having a lovely weekend.

    1. Hi Susie, journaling is a great way to spend the long, long, long, winter evenings :)
I know that the days are getting shorter now, but it's not where you notice yet.
It always surprises me how much more energy I have in the warmer months when the days are longer.
So am substituting bright colors for day light, LOL.
And in someways it works :)
