A Week of Apron Sewing

The past week I have been enjoying
sewing in my studio.
I hope you enjoy these photos.

I love making pretty aprons.

Well, I think they are pretty,
but you should be the judge.

All of the graphics that I used on my aprons,
comes from non-other than the wonderful
"The Graphic Fairy"
http://thegraphicsfairy.com/

Here's Butchy, he is able to jump back up into his favorite spot
 for watching the neighborhood.
If you look at his back he has several perfect scare imprints
from the teeth of that dog that attacked him,
and a big jagged scare on his belly where it was torn open.

He is feeling himself again, and we are delighted.

Thank you for all of your prayers.
The Vets at the clinic were surprised at his quick recovery,
but we know that prayer was the answer.

We are overjoyed to have our little boy,
back feeling spunky again.

Oh, he thinks his scares make him look tough :)

~~~~~~~
Have a blessed and wonderful day.
Your blogging sister,
Connie :)
    1. Hi Elise, I'm delighted that you like my aprons. They all started out as something else. Do you have a dress in your closest that you never wear and has gone out of style or doesn't fit anymore. Well if the fabric is still good . . . recreate it. That is where my aprons start out. The rest is getting creative and having fun with it.
      It's a great way to go green :)
  4. You sew so beautifully! These really look more like pretty dresses than aprons. I think I would put them UNDER my clothes so I would not splatter on them! My favorite is the purple, it is gorgeous, especially the little textured dots on it and the beautiful bow. I am SO glad Butchy is better, and I agree, it is the prayers!
  5. Your aprons are beautiful, Connie! I never wear them myself but there is just something about an apron with a ruffle and a pretty tie.
  6. Connie- Your aprons are gorgeous. I love your choice of materials and styles. I have some of that same fabric as the half apron. I have had it for a long time and still love it-always thought I would make pillows with it.
    I am so glad that Butchy is doing so well. It is always so sad to see our animals hurt/suffering...and they can't tell you how bad they feel. Blessings- have a great Wednesday- xo Diana
    1. Hi Diana, this is so funny because if you are talking about the apron with the cabbage roses, it started out as an unused pillow sham. It's marvelous having Butchy back to normal . . . we were not sure that would ever happen. He has amazed the Vets at his turn around :) Yes, prayer is the answer :)
  7. I noticed I had a new follower and here you are! I have found your delightful blog - someone from another part of the world,always of interest to me - somone creative too - I like your aprons, I have no idea how you copy graphics fairy text on to fabric but it looks fabulous, your aprons are very vintage chic! then I explored more and found your beatiful kitchen makeovers, your kitchen is so cheery and full of color. I am so sorry your little Dog Butchy had a bad experience but pleased to read also that he is on the mend, blessings and healing thoughts to him, hope the neighbouring dog is not able to get close again - it's a worry to have a dog around that has that in his personality so keep little Butchy safe with you. Lovely to find your blog. Betty
  8. Aprons are really cute...my fave is the purple one, course I am a purple kind of person. I have one apron that I bought on Etsy. I wear it at my garage sales, pockets are big enough to "hold all that money" (hahaha)
    So glad Butchy is mending. Yes Prayer is a pretty powerful weapon and can travel farther then our thoughts and higher then the nearest star...God hears our desparete prayers even for our wooly friends. Have a great day.
    1. Hi Louise, thank you for this kind visit. I agrees with you about prayer, and you put it into words in such a lovely way. Our lives are not so complicated when we are trusting in Him and in communication with Him on a daily and hourly basis :) I'm very happy that you like my aprons, they are a lot of fun to make.
  9. Hi Connie,
    I love your aprons - especially the first one. I think it's the ric rac that really does it for me!!!
    What a bad dog to come over and take a bite out of Butchy. I'm glad he's doing well and I hope he isn't traumatized by the encounter.
    Hugs,
    Kay
    1. Hi Kay, you know we thought it would change his personality and that he would be afraid around other dogs, especially large dogs, but he does not seemed to be effected by the trauma at all. It must be something like the pain of childbirth. If we remembered just how much it hurt we might not have more than one child, LOL
      I'm delighted that you like my aprons, I like ric-rac too . . . it's an old fashion thing, right :)
  10. Love your aprons. I am rather partial to the odd bit of rik-rak. Glad your little dog Butchy is on the mend. My dog Maddy was attacked a few years ago, it's not something you easily forget. (She recovered very well though). Thanks for taking the time to read my blog.
    1. Hello Jane, it is always a pleasure to hear from you. There is a magic that happens when I tie an apron around my waist that says this is going to be a great meal. It's a Betty Crocker thing, LOL I'm happy to hear that you also wear an apron and that I'm not the only one :)
      Butchy has bounced back so fast, that he has even surprised his Vets.
    1. Good morning Lynn, thanks for stopping by. I have been having a lot of fun sewing lately and learning more and more about my new embroidery machine. You were right about the designs being addictive, but I am controlling myself (so far) LOL. Well, I need to go to the bank this morning, so while I'm out and about I thought that I would check out a few yard sales. Wish me luck . . . you never know what you might find :) Have a lovely day and thanks again for stopping by.
