Where Bloggers Create . . . My Art Barn

I am so excited to be a part of
this very special Blogging Party.
Karen at My Desert Cottage has been having
 this party once a year for sometime now,
and I always visit and look through
 everyone's wonderful spaces.
I almost can't believe that I'm actually here
 taking part in the fun.
~~~~~*****~~~~~
I hope you like your visit.
~~~~~*****~~~~~
 This is the outside,
but that's not what you're here for . . .
come on in!
 Sit down if your like . . .
or move around and check things out.
They say a picture is worth a thousand words,
 so I’m dispensing with too many words
and just bringing on the pictures.

 I never thought of myself as a hoarder,
but I'm afraid when it comes to my studio,I am.
If you have any idea for a project using
these old BINGO balls,
please share your idea with me.
I have had them for over ten years:)
Never apologize for your studio being messy . . .
Mine is always messy when I am being creative.
It’s supposed to be that space
where I can get messy without guilt.

 This chair is my latest project.

This my scrap bin, I couldn't live without it.
I have dug through it so many times,
to find the perfect little piece of fabric
to complete a project:)
See my shelf of sewing thread.
That is one of those picture display shelves.
I found it at a yard sale for $3
and it works wonderfully.

This is my dream come true space . . .
it is a collection of junk, stashes of this and that,
and supplies waiting to be turned into art.
~~~~~*****~~~~~
  It's my home away from home and I love it!
I hope you enjoy you visit.
~~~~~*****~~~~~
Come back on July 20th . . .
I'll be having a  "Give-A-Way" that week:)
~~~~~*****~~~~~
 Please stop by Karen's blog
The Desert Cottage
and take some more studio tours.
    1. Hi Leanne, do you make dolls? I have made a couple of cloth dolls for my granddaughters, but that is the extent of my doll making. I know that you have an image in your head for this idea . . . I wish I could pick your brain and get an idea of how I would do this. I'm delighted that you like my blue cabinet.
      I purchased it at a yard sale for $10 . . . brought it home and painted it blue. I like it too :) Thanks for stopping by and taking my studio tour. This is my first time to join a blogging party like this:)
  4. Dear Connie, you never cease to amaze me! Your crafty home is such a delight, so pretty and soooooooo organised! You have inspired me to get in and get sorted out. ( but don't hold your breath!) PS. I think you have the same flooring as we have in our kitchen...once again...it's a small world xx
    1. Hi Jane, The floor in our bathroom was in terrible shape when we bought this house . . . Steve was out of town at a meeting and I got the idea to redo the floor myself. I went to our home improvement store and told them what I was going to do. They helped by giving me instructions and helping be find all the materials for the job. When Steve got home I had the job done. That was a turning point for me . . .I felt so powerful, like I could take on any project I tried. That was the day my true DIY nature was born, LOL. There has been no stopping be since then :) After doing the bathroom with all of it's angles, the barn was easy and I used the same flooring. I really like it because it doesn't show spills and dirty places. You don't know it's dirty until you mop and see your water, LOL. My kind of floor.
Then I came in and here you are:) You are on my mine and in my heart and prayers. Thanks for taking the time to stop by and visit, it is always a pleasure hearing from you:)
    1. Hi Judy, once around twenty-five or so year ago, I watched a special on TV that was a tour of Barbara Streisand's home . . . only it was three or four homes (I can't remember) bu,t they were all on one block all together. Each home was a totally different style and each one was designed and decorated by her. Their backyards all came together. She would move about from one to another accordingly to her mood. That's what you can do if you have more money than you know what to do with. But, I think it also shows that we do have many sides to your likes and dislikes, especially when it comes to style:)
    1. Good Morning Deb, I have to pinch myself every now and than, to believe my barn is real. When we purchased this old place last year my husband was so excited about the shop, but there wasn't much room for my stuff. I thought about putting it in the well house and making a studio there, but it does have a dampest that would not have been the best. So, I broke into my personal savings account (many years of a dollar here and there) and purchased this barn. They delivered it and leveled it and then we started insulating and making it my space. I love it and feel very blessed. I never knew what I was saving for . . . but I do now, LOL. Thanks so much for visiting and come back next week and get in on my Give-A-Way:)
    1. Hi Nancy, it won't be long now until your cottage is finished, then you will have time to play around with your own creative space. I love everything that you are doing to the cottage. You're adding so many lovely unique features. I'm sure that all the research that you have done on small spaces for your blog has come in very handy for getting ideas. It's going to be so wonderful. Every time I think of you I picture you as I saw you last in your big summer hat, with garden trowel in hand. You looked so pretty . . . when I'm working in my yard, I'm a sight for sore eyes, LOL. Well, I better cut this short or Steve is going to be calling me to get in the car for church. I just had a few minutes to check my blog. Have a happy day!
  49. Oh Connie, I just ADORE your art barn! Thank you for the comprehensive guided tour! I smiled all the way round it. It is such a fabulous space, and everywhere I can see your own special and individual imprint. I love the stool as you come in! Great invitation! You have made your country cottage so much your own in every respect, and even from way across the ocean I can feel the very special atmosphere there. I wish I could hop over and see it all in person, give you a huge hug, and share a cup of tea with you!!!!!
    Bingo balls? Dolls' heads!
    Thank you for your visit and your lovely comment. Glad you like my cousin's card. Our Post Office doesn't charge more for square cards, but it does charge more for larger ones (and that includes thicker, too) - it's a stupid system and we're always getting caught out with it. Last year I sent a friend a card with quite a thick bee on it, and she had to go to her local post office and pay extra in order to receive it! Outrageous. We already have a 2-tier system (1st and 2nd class - 1st is supposed to be guaranteed next day delivery which is a joke) and they recently introduced this size variation too. In the old days it was a flat rate system and you just paid extra for weight (parcels etc) and everything arrived the next day. They even had a 2nd post delivered in the afternoons. Now we pay far more, and get a miserable service in exchange!! (End of Shoshi's rant.)
    I'm busy making cards for a friend who shares her birthday with her hubby, and she's going to be in hospital recovering from a huge bowel surgery so she needs cheering up. I can't post about them till they've received them but I've made the get well card and now have the 2 birthday ones to make! Lots of bright colours and fun to make her smile!
    1. Hi Shoshi, it is always wonderful hearing from you. . . I get to know you better with each correspondence. I'm happy that you like my art barn and it would be lovely if you lived close enough to drop in to play and have tea. Our postal service is the same . . . if you have anything that you might question at all, you better take it to the post office and have it weighed and measured. It just adds another chore to your daily list. The good side is that I have met some nice people standing in line and sometimes see an old friend that I haven't seen in years:)
