A couple of days before our camping trip
I picked a bouquet for the kitchen.
I wanted to enjoy these to the max,
before being away :)
This was our camping site.
Potholes State Park, Washington.
We were camping with friends.
The spaces are large and shady.
It's a beautiful park.
A great place for fishing if you bring a boat,
but the beach is not the best
for swimming or putting in kayaks.
I made a new friend to share my apple with :)
And you all know me . . .
I took along a little hand-stitching.
We had a lovely group meal.
Our friends made a huge spread of
Dutch oven roast beef, with carrots,
potatoes and gravy.
Then there was slaw, rolls,
fresh strawberries and ice cream
and cobbler.
We waddled away, LOL
We also played Dominoes . . .
I love game playing.
Well, that was my week . . .
now I'm home to weed the garden
and do a little bit more planting :)
Keep Smiling!
Your blogging sister,
Connie :)
That looks like a beautiful park. I’m sitting in my trailer up at Loon Lake right now. It’s a bit drizzly and cool but that doesn’t bother me a bit. You know how I love my (lake) home. Thanks for sharing your trip with us. Your new little friend looks like he’s enjoying that apple quite a lot.
ReplyDeleteBlessings always,
Betsy
It was fun to watch him come down and take the apple slice. Our dog Butchy wasn't sure about the whole thing, LOL. I'm delighted to hear that you are up at the lake and enjoying your weekend.
DeleteWow what a nice time! cant think of anything better. I am looking for a camper ,one that I can redo cosmetically the real reason that prompted me buy one is that when we have a hurricane it will be a safe getaway for all 7 of us , last time with Irma we had to split up to safety . Love your kitchen flowers so pretty! Lisa@ Sweet Tea N' Salty Air
ReplyDeleteHi Lisa, it would be a good thing to hook up and get out of town when it's hurricane season. There should be a great deal of used ones in your area . . . good luck with your search.
DeleteWhat a lovely place to spend a little time, so picturesque.
ReplyDeleteIt was a sweet little trip and being there with good friends made it even sweeter :)
DeleteA beautiful park to spend your holiday at. : )
ReplyDeleteThe weather was perfect, the campground beautiful and having friends near by to visit with made it so enjoyable :)
DeleteBeautiful flowers and your banner reminds me to get mine out that you made me! I had forgotten about it and it is finally time!! Why is the park named Pothole State Park? It sounds beautiful and what a fun time with friends! Nancy
ReplyDeletePotholes State Park is names for all the many very small lakes around it. They are really not big enough to be called lakes but from a bird's eye view there are a hundred of them scattered around the main lakes, called potholes :) I'm so happy that you are still enjoying the banner.
DeleteI love playing games too. Tomorrow we'll be with my DH's family and no doubt we'll play Dominoes.
ReplyDeleteWe were playing a Dominoes game called Chicken Foot, do you play that?
DeleteSounds like you had a lovely time camping! Beautiful camp ground and looks like you had nice weather.
ReplyDeleteWe had lovely weather and there was lots of shade trees around our campsite. I did get some mosquito bits, but that is part of camping :) It is wonderful to have you stop in and visit, it's been a while. I do hope that everything is going well for you and your family.
DeleteLooks like a wonderful place to camp and fish.
ReplyDeleteWe didn't do any fishing, this trip, but had a lot of fun relaxing and visiting with friends.
DeleteSounds like a wonderful break away. The park looked lovely with some striking trees and always a joy to spend quality time with friends.
ReplyDeleteIt was very nice. If it hadn't of been for wanting to get back to my garden (spring is a tender age in the garden) we would have stayed another night or two :)
DeleteConnie your camping trip looks very relaxing. What a nice getaway and it sounds like you had good company.
ReplyDeletexx Beca
We had great company . . . in fact the trailer parked in the site next to ours was our next door neighbor at home. They do this camping trip every year and have been inviting us to tag along for a few years now. I'm glad we finally did, it was lots of fun :)
DeleteSounds like a wonderful relaxing week. Of course you had to take some stitching though. It wouldn't be right to have all that relaxing with no project to work on...lol That looks like a beautiful park.
ReplyDeleteMy silly old hands just need to be busy . . . I got that from my mother. I have a brother that is the same way . . . we are always doing something, LOL
DeleteA perfect break from the day-to-day routines! Looks like a pretty park.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it nice to change our routines once in a while? I think it is good for our mental and physical well being.
DeleteI love the park pics, Connie. Reminds me of a place near where I grew up.
ReplyDeleteIt is a very pretty park and whoever designed it bought is a large variety of different trees. There was one behind our camp site that I would have loved to had growing in my backyard :)
DeleteWhat a lovely way to kick off the summer. The park looks great despite its name.
ReplyDeleteIt's name is for the many small pools of water surrounding the main lakes, there are at least a hundred of them, probably more :)
DeleteThat is such a beautiful park. At first, I thought you were going to talk about a pothole. :)
ReplyDeleteI know that the name of that park is a bit strange but it's name is because of the many small pools of water surrounding the main lakes, there are at least a hundred of them, probably more :)
DeleteMy sister lives in WA (state). Looks like a lot of fun! Enjoy your garden.
ReplyDeleteIt's a beautiful state have you ever visited?
DeleteSounds like a fun little getaway!
ReplyDeleteIt was a very nice break . . . sometimes we just have to do it. I'm looking forward to more like this :)
DeleteHow lovely! I know you must be enjoying your "new" oh-so-lovely trailer.
ReplyDeleteWe are loving it . . . it's secondhand so we have found a few things that needed fixing, but now it's ready and we are planing on many fun get-a-ways like this one :)
Deletethat looks like a pretty area to camp, I love to have a shaded area. That picture with the line of trees is so neat! The picture of the squirrel with the apple is too cute. So nice you have friends to go camping with. That's nice you could bring some crafting for down times.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy have handwork, it's very relaxing to me. That is when I do it right and don't spend my time tearing in out again, LOL. It was fun to get away and take a little break :)
DeleteHi Connie what a beautiful place to go camping at,love your pics especially the one of the squirrel,we dont have them over in Australia xx
ReplyDeleteWell, we don't have kagangoo's here, LOL. It's amazing all the different animals of the world and how they are so different in different areas. We love watch nature programs on TV, animal life is pretty amazing.
DeleteThanks for stopping by to say hello :)
Those flowers are just beautiful and your window is so cheery. Flowers make a room come alive don't they? What a fun trip and a beautiful park! That meal sounds amazing!! I just had to drop by for a minute to see what you were up to. Have a wonderful week sweet lady!
ReplyDeleteHugs, Vicky
Hi Vicky, well I'm always up to something and Lord willing I will be for a long time :) This was a really fun trip and then just about and hour ago I got news that one of my nephews from Indiana is coming out for a visit and will be here in a week or so. Summer is fun and now I have a reason to plan a big barbecue :)
DeleteThat sounds fun! Enjoy his visit...:)
DeleteLooks like a really nice campground.. so green and so many trees. You wouldn't think there would be one like that in the dry side of Washington! I'm like you... I NEED to take some sort of handwork with me wherever I go. If I don't, I feel at loose ends and have to go to a store searching for something to work on! I keep a little bag of projects as my "travel bag" to take with me. It is mostly pens and watercolor paper for doing Zentangle... and I also have a little embroidery project.. but of course, nothing ever gets done... it's just nice to have something to work on. I wouldn't know what to do with myself to just sit with idle hands and visit with people! My aunt was like that and I guess I take after her. She always had a bag of knitting projects that she would take. I like the idea of having some hexagons to make.. hum.m.m.m may have to add it to my little travel bag! Glad you had a chance to get to a new spot and enjoy your home away from home. Hugs.. Marilyn
ReplyDeleteWe had a wonderful time . . . if it weren't for getting back to the garden (it's pretty tender this early in the year) we would have stayed another night or two.
DeleteThank you for your visit to my blog Connie and your lovely comment, and am sorry it is a while since I dropped by here but can see you have been busy with your gardening and painting project in the kitchen. Your plants look wonderful, you obviously have green fingers as we say. and looks like you had a great time on your trip, and thank you for the wonderful photos. x
ReplyDeleteHi Pat, it is always a pleasure to have you stop by. Thank you for visiting:)
