Camping Trip Potholes State Park, WA

A couple of days before our camping trip
I picked a bouquet for the kitchen.

I wanted to enjoy these to the max,
before being away :)

This was our camping site.
Potholes State Park, Washington.

We were camping with friends.
The spaces are large and shady.

It's a beautiful park.

A great place for fishing if you bring a boat,
but the beach is not the best
for swimming or putting in kayaks.

I made a new friend to share my apple with :)

And you all know me . . .
I took along a little hand-stitching.

We had a lovely group meal.
Our friends made a huge spread of
Dutch oven roast beef, with carrots,
  potatoes and gravy.
Then there was slaw, rolls,
fresh strawberries and ice cream
and cobbler.

We waddled away, LOL

We also played Dominoes . . .
I love game playing.

Well, that was my week . . .
now I'm home to weed the garden
and do a little bit more planting :)

Keep Smiling!

Your blogging sister,
Connie :)

  1. That looks like a beautiful park. I’m sitting in my trailer up at Loon Lake right now. It’s a bit drizzly and cool but that doesn’t bother me a bit. You know how I love my (lake) home. Thanks for sharing your trip with us. Your new little friend looks like he’s enjoying that apple quite a lot.
    Blessings always,
    Betsy

    1. It was fun to watch him come down and take the apple slice. Our dog Butchy wasn't sure about the whole thing, LOL. I'm delighted to hear that you are up at the lake and enjoying your weekend.

  2. Wow what a nice time! cant think of anything better. I am looking for a camper ,one that I can redo cosmetically the real reason that prompted me buy one is that when we have a hurricane it will be a safe getaway for all 7 of us , last time with Irma we had to split up to safety . Love your kitchen flowers so pretty! Lisa@ Sweet Tea N' Salty Air

    1. Hi Lisa, it would be a good thing to hook up and get out of town when it's hurricane season. There should be a great deal of used ones in your area . . . good luck with your search.

    1. Potholes State Park is names for all the many very small lakes around it. They are really not big enough to be called lakes but from a bird's eye view there are a hundred of them scattered around the main lakes, called potholes :) I'm so happy that you are still enjoying the banner.

    1. We had lovely weather and there was lots of shade trees around our campsite. I did get some mosquito bits, but that is part of camping :) It is wonderful to have you stop in and visit, it's been a while. I do hope that everything is going well for you and your family.

    1. We had great company . . . in fact the trailer parked in the site next to ours was our next door neighbor at home. They do this camping trip every year and have been inviting us to tag along for a few years now. I'm glad we finally did, it was lots of fun :)

  11. Sounds like a wonderful relaxing week. Of course you had to take some stitching though. It wouldn't be right to have all that relaxing with no project to work on...lol That looks like a beautiful park.

    1. It is a very pretty park and whoever designed it bought is a large variety of different trees. There was one behind our camp site that I would have loved to had growing in my backyard :)

    1. It's name is for the many small pools of water surrounding the main lakes, there are at least a hundred of them, probably more :)

    1. I know that the name of that park is a bit strange but it's name is because of the many small pools of water surrounding the main lakes, there are at least a hundred of them, probably more :)

    1. Hi Vicky, well I'm always up to something and Lord willing I will be for a long time :) This was a really fun trip and then just about and hour ago I got news that one of my nephews from Indiana is coming out for a visit and will be here in a week or so. Summer is fun and now I have a reason to plan a big barbecue :)

  22. Looks like a really nice campground.. so green and so many trees. You wouldn't think there would be one like that in the dry side of Washington! I'm like you... I NEED to take some sort of handwork with me wherever I go. If I don't, I feel at loose ends and have to go to a store searching for something to work on! I keep a little bag of projects as my "travel bag" to take with me. It is mostly pens and watercolor paper for doing Zentangle... and I also have a little embroidery project.. but of course, nothing ever gets done... it's just nice to have something to work on. I wouldn't know what to do with myself to just sit with idle hands and visit with people! My aunt was like that and I guess I take after her. She always had a bag of knitting projects that she would take. I like the idea of having some hexagons to make.. hum.m.m.m may have to add it to my little travel bag! Glad you had a chance to get to a new spot and enjoy your home away from home. Hugs.. Marilyn
