Old Cupboard Painted Once Again

See the yellow cupboard with the TV

in it . . . well, in this post you will

see it repurposed and moved from

the Art Barn to the house.

You can barely see it

but between those two chairs

there it stands painted white.

My life is full of changes,

but isn't it that way in

all of our lives?

So many changes and not always
what we want or expect.

I brought it into the house
and painted it the same
light grey as the walls.

Now it stands in the dining room
filled with homemade quilts.

That's my post for today . . .

Except, that I would like to say:
Today is election day here in the USA
I hope everyone voted.

Of course I want my man to win,
but either way tomorrow is going to be
a day of trouble . . .
the whole world has seen the destruction
in our nation.

Just remember that however the
election turns out . . .
God is in control!

This old hymn brings me peace:

Oh, turn your eyes upon Jesus
Look full in His wonderful face
And the things of earth will grow
strangely dim
In the light of His glory and grace.

God bless you,
Connie :)

    1. Yes, the election today has been known by our God long before this day. And we know from His word that sometimes He gives a people what they "want" even though He knows it is not the best for them.
Your cabinet looks lovely with all your handmade quilts folded inside.

  10. Your home always looks so inviting and cheerful Connie. I love how you repurposed that cabinet to hold the beautiful quilts. The quilts are so full of color and happiness and the gray cabinet is perfect for them.
Thank you for the words to the old hymn. I'm sitting here watching the results of the election come in and know that no matter what happens, there will be trouble. How sad is that? I'm so glad that my hope is not in a president or other things of this world, but in God and the love He has for me. None of this surprises Him and sometimes He gives us what we deserve, not what we want. And sometimes we get what we want and it's definitely not what is best for us.
    Blessings,
    Betsy

  12. Hello Connie- Well done there on re-purposing your Cabinet from the Barn. - looks fantastic re-painted and with all your lovely colorful Quilts. Yes, I've been made aware of the US Presidential Elections since all our TV stations have been having rolling coverage...To-nights message was 'It is too close to call' with the final result will take awhile. I'm hoping that there won't be any civil trouble or unrest after the election. Stay well there Connie- Best Wishes. KEV.

I am happy to have found your blog Connie, and I love the picture of you and your hubby - it reminded me very much of myself and my hubby (we had 45 wonderful years together). Take care and stay safe, Mxx

  25. Such a strange year all around, waiting to hear the results after these many days, God knows what's ahead and I am thankful for that. I love your repurposing you have done, such a great idea and will be so nice to have the quilts on display like that, I have mine laying all over the house :) But I don't have nearly as many as you do.

  29. Nothing prettier than a white or light gray cupboard full of handmade quilts! It looks wonderful! I missed this post somehow.. it went into my "spam" folder and I don't check it very often! I wish so much I could get myself to paint some of my furniture. I just don't know where to do it as no room in our garage and hate to stink up the house with paint fumes! I would love some of my furniture to be white. I might get brave one of these days and try it first on an old wood dresser that is in our bedroom.. I may paint it white and to the drawers pink! I saw that in a photo in a magazine and it just struck me as so pretty! We're having some windy weather here and even some rain. We need it! Take care.. hugs... Marilyn
